This Week's Message - March 14, 2010

With the Sermon Series, "24", Lead Pastor, Rev. Aaron Bouwens will lead this Sunday's sermon entitled "Two Guys and a Roman" with the message being from Mark 15:1-15. There they were, Jesus, Barabbas and Pilate. One, Pilate, with the authority to set the other two free. The people are given a choice of who to set free. Who wouldyou have chosen?

Messages for The Coming Weeks

March 21, 2010 - "So You Are The King?" - Mark 15:16-20
Who do you think you are? The mere words conjure images which are not pleasant. Like being on the playground in third grade, Jesus is treated harshly by the Roman military and asked about his claims to be King.

March 28, 2010 - "Roman Example" - Mark 15:21-34
More than a piece of Jewelry, the cross is a symbol of something far greater to those who would follow Jesus. To the Romans in Jesus day it was a symbol of what happens to those who oppose the Roman way. Jesus was nailed to the cross as an example of what happens to those who go against the grain.

April 1, 2010 - Holy Thursday -"Come to The Table" - John 13:1-17
As we physically enter the last 24 hours before the cross, all are welcome to come to the table of the Lord.

April 2, 2010 - Good Friday - "Is This The End?" - Mark 15:33-47
The cry pierced the air. The curtain was torn. Jesus was dead. The clock expired, now what? Was the story over, or is there another chapter?

April 4, 2010 - Easter - "The Rest of The Story" - Mark 16:1-8
I love it when a story ends and feels incomplete. Jesus dies on the cross and there seem to be all kinds of unfulfilled promises. The story to that point was a great story as people are healed, culture is challenged, and community is re-estalished. The story is not over.
